writing a movie review

Movie review: Write a movie review of a movie YOU have chosen. Chose something you are excited for other people to watch.

Your movie review should include: Your opinion of the movie in 2 or 3 sentences. A brief summary of the movie, 4 or 5 sentences. Some positives and negatives of the movie, 3 or 4 sentences, and a conclusion about whether to see this movie or not, 2 or 3 sentences.

In class, we will present these reviews to the group so others can decide which movies they wish to see.

Vocabulary

Black and white  - Superhero movies are very black and white

nemesis - Batman's nemesis is the joker

Achilles heel - Superman's achilles heel is kryptonite

alter-ego - Superman's alter-ego is Clark Kent

high-budget. Superman is a very high budget movie.

Original, unique, one of kind.

predictable -the ending was really predictable

subplot - the movie had many interesting subplots

cliche - That story was very cliched

pretentious - The characters in the story were really pretentious

scope - The movie had a wide scope; it talked about many things.

unravel - the movie really unraveled when it got near the end.

unfold - the plot unfolded beautifully after a slow start.
